Scuba diving is a sport that allows a person to breathe under water using a Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA). This allows divers to explore the 70% of the earth that is covered by water. Divers use a lot of specialist equipment to allow them to stay under water for up to several hours at a time.
Scuba diving may be done in both a recreational setting or professionaly and divers range from people who only dive in warm water on holidays, to those who go out everyweekend to people who work underwater everyday in jobs such welding.
